Ice Hockey-History

A pretty similar game was played in the Low Countries between the middle ages, and it was called, Ijscolf. The game was played with a wooden curved bat and a ball made of wood or leather called Colf, between two poles or simply convenient nearby landmarks, with the objective of hitting the chosen point with the least number of strokes.
This was the first "black" team. Its name is unknown.

Speaking about modern Ice Hockey, the centre of development of this sport was Montreal and, on March 3 of 1875, there was the first ice hockey match. The game became so popular in 1883 in the first “world championship” and, from the early 20th century, there started to appear professional players.
